Job Title: Senior EHS Client Service Consultant

Biography:

Laura has been a key member of the Cority Professional Services team since June 2013. Laura completed her undergrad at Indiana University Bloomington, where she received a BA in Biology. She went on to complete a Masters of Public Health degree at Tulane University and is also a Certified Safety Professional. In addition to being involved in implementation projects, she’s made key contributions to the enhancement of the Safety product, and the development and refinement of internal processes. Laura’s depth of knowledge in the Safety industry enables her to understand the day-to-day pain points and challenges that many Cority customers face, which she routinely voices during discussions of how the Cority solutions can be improved. She’s walked in the shoes of many of our customers and provides the Cority team with insights on how our customers can best make use of the solutions with which we provide them.

Q: What do you love most about your job at Cority?

So many things – every day is a new challenge.  After being here over 4 years, I still learn new things every day.  The folks that I work with – both our internal Cority staff and my clients. 

Q: What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work hours?

Right now – just exploring my new home area!  Just moved to Arizona from Chicago 3 months ago. 

Q: What is the last book that you’ve read?

A book assignment for work – “Leadership and Self Deception: Getting Out of the Box” by The Arbinger Institute 🙂

Q: If you could switch roles with someone in the company for the day, who would you switch with and why?

Product Team – exciting to be creating/developing what Cority will look like in the future.

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?

Listening to people chew!

Q: What is one achievement or experience at Cority that you’re most proud of?

Each and every client go live that I am involved with are exciting and proud moments. I look forward to each and every one of them and enjoy following up with the clients to hear how Cority is helping their organization.

Q: If you were given $40,000 to start your own business, what kind of business would you start?

I would start a non-profit animal rescue!

Q: Tell us something that not many people know about you (think a hidden hobby or talent).

I love interior design – good thing since I move so much!

Mark is CEO of Cority Software Inc., a Toronto-based, award-winning, global SaaS company. Under Mark’s leadership, Cority’s revenue has grown consistently at a compounded rate of 25%. The company has grown in employees from 29 when Mark started in 2003 to close to 400 employees today. It enjoys an industry-leading profit margin. In 2016, Cority raised capital with Norwest Venture Partners, Georgian Partners, and BMO; in 2019 Cority raised capital from software specialist Private Equity firm Thoma Bravo and with Norwest again stepping up as an investor. Mark was a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2017 and 2018. Previously, Mark was Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary and a member of the executive management team of AT&T Canada Corp. Mark is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University, where he recently completed 10 years on the Board of Governors, including four as Chair of the Board. He received his J.D. from the University of Victoria and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Mark is active in mentoring young entrepreneurs and has served on several other not for profit boards.
