Collaborative development with Cority clients enables EHS leaders to leverage data-driven insights to reduce the costs of workplace injuries and improve safety outcomes
Toronto, Canada – March 6, 2018 – Cority, the most trusted environmental, health, safety, and quality (EHSQ) software for assuring client success, today announced the general availability of Cority Analytics, the company’s cloud-based predictive analytics solution. Designed to empower EHS leaders to delve deeper into their data and act on insights, Cority Analytics enables organizations to proactively identify and mitigate workplace risk to ultimately drive down the human and financial costs of workplace accidents. This release is the first in a series of innovations that come as a result of a collaboration between Cority experts, Georgian Partners, and Cority clients in the Cority Predictive Analytics Program.
This first innovation by Cority’s in-house Data Science team, Cority Analytics, leverages a robust predictive model, enabling EHS departments to easily assess the quality of their data, benchmark performance, identify the likelihood of workplace incidents occurring and take action to drive safer behavior across the enterprise.
“Leveraging our 30+ years of EHS data expertise, we’ve built a strong predictive model to help EHS departments truly harness the power of their data, determine where to prioritize limited resources to improve program performance, and reduce risk of incidents and injuries,” said Mark Wallace, President and CEO, Cority. “We thank our Cority Analytics Program members including Shaw Industries Group, Inc, Whiting Petroleum, Toyota Engineering & Manufacturing America (TEMA), Westmoreland Coal Company, Seattle City Light, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, and Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline who were instrumental in helping us develop a vision and design a product that will be of immediate benefit to our client base.”
“We were impressed by the initial results of Cority Analytics,” said a representative of Safety Management at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada. “The solution allows us to quantify and visualize what we believe are the significant contributors to increased workplace safety – quickly. We will be using this information to create new policies, benchmark against our peers, and improve our data quality. We were excited when Cority could tie the decrease in incidents to cost per injury and reduced length of absences. This will help us provide better information to our stakeholders and improve the effectiveness of the service we provide to our customer – our team members.”
Key capabilities of Cority Analytics include:
Data Quality Score – measures EHS data on accuracy and completeness and calculates a score out of 100 to show EHS departments exactly where data quality issues exist, the types of records missing and what’s negatively impacting performance. These insights can then be used to shape data hygiene programs, identify areas for improvement and drive better decision-making.
What-If Analysis – provides real-time insight into a worker’s likelihood of being injured over a 12-month period. Leveraging Cority’s predictive analytics engine, EHS professionals can input attributes such as training sessions attended and length of time on the job to see what influences risk, identify trends, and support EHS policy and program changes.
Third Party Data Integrations – enables clients to take advantage of existing dashboard functionality to integrate data from sources like the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to benchmark against their peers and simplify reporting for OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program.
“Moving to Cority’s centralized safety management solution helps us eliminate the data silos we previously had and provides the visibility needed to generate accurate and timely reports,” said Jim Furlong, VP Global Safety, Westmoreland Coal Company. “Cority Analytics will help us continue to evolve our EHS program and take our data strategy to the next level – enabling us to identify risk before it happens, pinpoint opportunities for improvement, and better leverage our data to support policy and program changes we suspected we needed.”
“By bringing the science of prediction to safety, Cority is giving EHS leaders the foresight needed to proactively understand and prevent risk before it happens,” said Madalin Mihailescu, CTO and Partner, Georgian Partners. “Empowering organizations with the right data-driven insights at the right time will have a transformative impact on how workplace health and safety programs are managed, ultimately helping EHS teams to better engage employees and drive operational savings.”
