Medgate Rebrands as Cority

The global leader in SaaS-based enterprise EHSQ solutions announces new name and growth strategy

“Cority stands for embracing the strong core values and the rich history our company was built upon and for upholding an unwavering commitment to our clients around the world,” said Mark Wallace, CEO of Medgate. “Our new name exemplifies and combines our core values of integrity, quality, customer centricity, community, and diversity into a modern and concise name. We are thrilled to introduce Cority to the world.”

Medgate has been the market leader in occupational health and industrial hygiene software for more than 30 years. As demand for integrated EHS solutions has increased, Medgate has expanded its award-winning safety and environmental software capabilities. Earlier this year, Medgate accelerated its environmental roadmap with the acquisition of regAction and entered the quality information management software space by acquiring IQS. In May, the company announced its new solution for mid-market organizations with the launch of EHS Professional Edition.

The company has grown beyond its traditional North American markets with rapid expansion in Europe, Australia, Latin America and the Middle East. Today, more than a third of Medgate’s clients are outside North America. As Medgate expanded to be the leading global EHSQ SaaS provider, so did the power of its capabilities through cutting edge innovation in mobility and predictive analytics.

These advancements are underpinned by a strategic investment in Medgate made by Palo Alto based Norwest Venture Partners, Georgian Partners and BMO Financial Group in March 2016. Medgate was targeted for its top-tier customer base, customer-centric culture, innovative enterprise-grade technology, and track record of profitable growth.

With so many advancements, the company determined the time was right to evolve its brand to reflect its market leading position in global SaaS EHSQ software solutions. Cority reflects the growth and direction of a company on the move but with strong roots in its past.

“The significant increase in the depth and breadth of the application over the last year as well as the impressive plans for future product innovation merited the launch of the Cority brand which builds on the heritage of the Medgate business,” said David Metcalfe, CEO of independent research and consulting firm Verdantix.

Today, organizations in every industry face rising stakeholder expectations, intensifying competition and constantly changing compliance requirements. Beyond compliance, effective EHSQ programs can advance an organization’s journey to sustainability and operational excellence.
